Emily Morrison

LMFT #49259

I have been working as a psychotherapist since 2008 and have provided supervision to associates since 2012. My passion is somatic psychotherapy and I bring this into both my own therapeutic work and the work I do with associates I supervise. My background includes extensive work with children and families, with an emphasis on early childhood, adolescents, and individual adults and couples. With this comes a strong orientation to human developmental stages and the way these can be disrupted as we move through our lives. Although we are resilient and continue onward, often we carry pieces of these disruptions into the way we experience the world and the relationships we form.

My focus is to meet clients where they are at and help them to understand, work with and when needed, heal the patterns that are impacting them. I also see many clients who are moving through life transitions and provide additional support and skill building during these times. I believe the mind body connection offers us a powerful tool in the therapeutic landscape. In addition I use other modalities like expressive arts, imaginal practices, sand tray, guided visualization, hypnotherapy, mindfulness and of course more traditional talk therapy in my practice.
