Growth is a natural process. It happens when we digest, accept, and integrate our experiences. Often, this transformation unfolds beneath the surface, shaping us in ways we may not immediately recognize. Have you ever returned from a trip only to have someone tell you that you’ve changed? Maybe you felt different too but couldn’t quite pinpoint why. My approach directly mirrors this organic process, creating an intentional space where growth can happen more deeply, meaningfully, and with greater awareness.
I work with young adults, adults, and couples on their unique journeys, providing a compassionate space where every experience is honoured and given its rightful attention. My work specializes in grief, anxiety, and neurodivergence. My training includes varied experiences in both educational and private practice settings, allowing me to support clients through a wide range of challenges.
My clients describe my presence as engaging, validating, and deeply attuned. This is a space where you’ll feel seen, energized, and supported in a way that fosters real change. My approach is integrative, drawing from modalities that support deep healing and growth. Sessions may include talk therapy, somatic inquiry, meditation, and other approaches that tap into the fundamental ways in which we evolve.
In addition to individual therapy, I work with couples looking to strengthen their relationships, whether that means improving communication, breaking painful patterns, or rekindling connection. Relationships are complex, and sometimes, having a therapist can make all the difference in shifting dynamics toward something more fulfilling.
I am currently offering sessions online for all California residents and have offices for in-person sessions in Berkeley and Corte Madera.
If this resonates with you, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to explore what working together would be like. You can schedule directly through my website: www.emilycarlsonpsychotherapy.com or email me at emily.carlson.therapy@gmail.com.
