Whitni Rader

AMFT #143696

Sometimes as humans we find ourselves ready to make a change but feel stuck. I can help you to start living your life from a place of choice, develop an internal sense of calm, and cultivate a sense of belonging inside yourself. Together we can work towards understanding and softening your inner-critic, and develop a feeling of being good enough, just as you are.

I believe in creating an emotionally safe and supportive space that allows clients to explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, relationship issues, or just feeling stuck, I am here to support you on your journey towards healing and growth. Together we can begin to understand and heal your experiences so that you can navigate your life from a place of increased freedom and choice.

When I work with relationships, I help create a safe place to be heard and seen. My training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps explore relationship patterns, including painful triggers and reactions that perpetuate the destructive or unsatisfying patterns that bring people to therapy. I’m here to help bring more understanding to what’s getting in the way and to unpack how we are painfully impacting each other. As we safely explore these areas, we gain insight into how each person shows up in the relationship, and more importantly… how each person can understand themselves better so that everyone can show up in ways that are personally fulfilling while also honoring the people we care most about.

Whether we are working one-on-one, or in your relationship, I’m listening for the deeper meanings and working to make connections in ways that might not be immediately apparent. Over time, this therapeutic space allows more and more chances for me to learn about you… from your words, your body language, your perceptions, your experiences… your unique presence. My training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Healing Shame provides a framework to explore a person’s internal world at a pace that is safe and supportive. In addition to a foundation of psychodynamic talk therapy, IFS, Healing Shame, and EFT, we might explore role-playing, visualization, mindfulness exercises, and other experiential practices, always considering comfort level, fit, and consent (we only experiment with what you feel up for – always!).

If you would like to set up a free phone consultation so that we can learn more about each other, please reach out, and we can discuss your needs and what might work for you.
